“How do geese know when to fly to the sun? Who tells them the seasons? How do we, humans, know when it is time to move on? As with the migrant birds, so surely with us, there is a voice within, if only we would listen to it, that tells us so certainly when to go forth into the unknown.”
– Elisabeth Kübler-Ross
The Plan:
Drive down through the Western United States, along the Baja peninsula, though Mexico to the rest of Central America, and then back home.
Our loose plan includes highlights such as:
- Watch the Baja 1000.
- Meet the locals.
- Meet other travellers.
- Hit the beach.
- Learn Spanish. (Dos cervezas por favor!)
- Drink Pacifico.
- Eat tacos.
Our planning and route will get a little more detailed over the next five months, but for now we know generally where we’re going. South.
We’d love to hear from you if there’s some place we just have to see, sleep at, eat at, etc. Let us know what we just can’t miss.
Hi there! Just wanted to pop on and say hello. My boyfriend, me and our dog will be doing a similar trip leaving from Los Angeles in mid-October. Our website isn’t live yet but should be up in the next couple of months. Hope to see you guys somewhere on the PanAm!
Victoria, Jason, and Neli!
Great to hear from you! Let us know when you’re live with the blog, we’ll make sure to keep up with your prep and travels. Looks like we’ll be on a similar route at the same time so we should definitely meet up somewhere along the way!
