An Overland Adventure
In 2013 we left our desk jobs in Vancouver, BC to explore Central and South America via overland travel in our 1990 Toyota Pickup, Little Red. We shared the ins and outs of daily life on the move, the rough roads, and the epic landscapes through our social media channels and here on our travel blog. Our next adventure begins in 2020 2021.

With 16 countries visited on our Pan American overland journey, and another eight via classic backpacking, we’re itching to explore more of this world.
Prior to its ressurection in 2013, out 1990 Toyota Pickup “Little Red” had been ridden hard and put away wet. It was left for dead in the back forty with flat tires and a cracked windshield that leaked like a sieve. Mould, rust, and long grass consumed the 25-year-old beast. Despite the Pickup’s unfortunate condition, we knew in our hearts that this truck would make a stellar overland vehicle for tackling the Pan-American highway.
This time we’re building off of those two years of experience.

“Overlanding is about exploration, rather than conquering obstacles. While the roads and trails we travel may be rough or technically challenging, they are the means to an end, not the goal itself. The goal is to see and learn about our world. The vehicle and equipment can be simple or extravagent – they, too are simply a means to an end. History, wildlife, culture, scenery, self-sufficiency – these are the rewards of overlanding.”
